As you may rightly guess from the name, Shadow Shopper is a service that gives people a chance to become a secret shopper, or what you may call a mystery shopper, and get paid for it. The essence of this is that some companies need people to do secret shopping of their products and give feedback about the quality of services and products that belong to that company.
Shadowshopper.com therefore comes in as the link between people who would like to become mystery shoppers and the companies that are looking for these services. The company has been in operation since the year 2003 but was incorporated in Nevada in 2010.
How do members benefit?
Shadow Shopper gets orders from various companies which require different forms of business evaluation. These businesses include restaurants, service companies, spas or even the general retail stores. The company then recruits secret shoppers for these companies, who go into various outlets of the business in question, pretending to be regular clients. They then collect information concerning the services and the customer treatment that these outlets offer. As a member of Shadowshopper.com, you will need to keep checking the company’s database for an opportunity that fits you. Once such an opportunity arises, you will have to apply for it and should you get the chance, you are given the mystery shopping assignment and get paid for it.
Shadow Shopper costs and benefits
From the information on www.shadowshopper.com, there seems to be three levels in which you can join the company. The first level is free but the website states clearly that with this membership, you may never get any shopping assignments. The second level is the bronze level while the top is the gold level. The higher the level you are in, the more chances of landing shopping jobs you will have. It looks like you can choose to join the company for $4.95 a month, $37.95 for three months or $99.95 a year. According to the website, with the gold membership, you can make up to $150 or more every week, for simply doing shopping or eating at the selected outlets.
Shadow Shopper review summary
It is true that companies require an evaluation of the services and products as offered in their different outlets. It is also true that some of these companies would outsource these evaluation jobs. Shadowshopper.com claims that it has over 150,000 companies that need this service. It therefore seems like one can indeed make some money with them. However, it is clear that it is not an opportunity from which one can make a fulltime source of employment.
